Scott and Company LLC Announces New Promotions

Scott and Company LLC, one of South Carolina’s leading accounting, tax, and consulting firms, is pleased to announce the promotions of Amanda Hawkins, CPA, Kim Hearn Johnson, CPA, Mike Aponte, Victoria Izakova, Taylor Williams, Matt McDaniel, and Allison Price.

Hawkins and Johnson were both promoted to the role of manager. Hawkins is in the firm’s assurance and advisory services practice, while Johnson is in the firm’s tax and advisory services practice. In her new role as audit manager, Hawkins oversees the day-to-day activities of specific audit engagements and supervises staff in the preparation of audit work papers. Taking on the responsibilities of a tax manager, Johnson is tasked with preparing and reviewing both individual and business returns. She has extensive experience working with clients in the nonprofit, banking, insurance, auto dealership, and hospitality sectors.

Hawkins has been with Scott and Company LLC since 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Carolina. Her professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina with her husband, Elliott, and their daughter.

Johnson joined Scott and Company LLC in 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from DeVry University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is an accredited Enrolled Agent (EA) representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service.

In addition, five other Scott and Company LLC team members are stepping into new roles. Mike Aponte takes on the responsibilities of senior accountant; Victoria Izakova will serve as an in-charge accountant; and Taylor Williams, Matt McDaniel, and Allison Price have all been promoted to associate accountants. Williams works in the firm’s Tax and Advisory Services practice, while Aponte, Izakova, McDaniel, and Price all serve on the Assurance and Advisory side.
